The Jamestown Community Food Pantry is entirely volunteer-run. Our team of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers is what enables the pantry to operate and provide such a vital service to the community. Requirements to volunteer
- Commitment to treating all pantry patrons with dignity and respect
- Must be comfortable with light physical labor, such as lifting approximately 20 pounds and standing for extended periods
- All of our food pantry volunteers need to be familiar with and follow JCFP food safety policies and procedures
- Volunteers are required to understand and implement all pantry policies and procedures, including those covering sexual harassment and confidentiality of all client information
- If any volunteer's personal vehicle is to be used for JCFP purposes, verification of the current minimum Rhode Island state-mandated vehicle and liability insurance coverage must be provided
- Flexible scheduling as needed
- A minimum of 2 adult volunteers will staff the pantry during all operational hours, and any volunteers under age 18 will work under adult supervision.
